Snowbirds ! Holiday information about Canavieiras / Bahia BRAZIL

hello together,

just come back from a trip to Brazil (Iguazu, Rio, Buzios,
Victoria, Trancoso, Arraial, Porto Seguro, Itacare, Salvador)
and had to find that the usual big cities and tourist resorts have become incredibly expensive.

I myself live since 5 years in Canavieiras / Bahia, a sleepy little town from the glorious cocoa times and also with some national tourism

and here everything is still totally cheap!

Probably because the place is not known and situated at a dead end road.

This small city leads his authentic Bahian town life, quiet and cozy, the people are friendly and genuine –
it’s just thank God nothing spoiled by tourism.

The Caipi still costs anywhere from 7 to 8 reais, R $ 5 bottle of beer, there’s really good food for 2 persons from 35 reais in the city and the romantic harbor.

There is a great coconut beach, almost 10 miles long and you find beach bars with
delicious food : seafood, tenderloin Steak,, chicken or fresh fish with vegetables.

Friendly service, free sun beds, the waiters carry your chairs directly to the water,
if you like.

There are cheap Pousadas from R $ 50 and even under English speaking German management: good flats and holiday apartments for R $ 80, beach chalets and hotels from R $ 100, even a huge penthouse at the fishing harbor for 150 RS per day.
In the low season or for longer bookings you can still negotiate a discount.

The attractions of Canavieiras are the many islands, 10 miles of palm beach
on the island of Atalaia, just outside the city – just go over the bridge, a 15 minutes walk.

The huge national park with thousands of hectares of mangrove forests, the Atlantic rainforest. Bathing weather all year with 24 / 28 ° Celsius – very warm ocean, even for children.

The city has a romantic cocoa port and the Sitio Historico, fourth, that the cocoa barons at the beginning of the 19th century have built in colonial style. So a Neuschwanstein castle effect, they built houses in a style, about 300 – 400 years ago.
But with wide avenues with trees and generous green stripes.

The wonderful 18 hole Golf Course Commadatuba is nearby, about 40 km

In addition, here is one of the best places in the world for big game fishing on Blue Marlin. The Marlins are usually catches and released again,

In particular, a perfect place for long stays and overwinterers because
we have a small German and international colony, they all speak English, so the visitors can enjoy there holidays without the knowledge of Portuguese language,
They organize domestic flights and transfers or pick you up at the airport Ilheus or Una.

And the locals have a new hotel school now, so the service will improve, and the kids are eager to learn English…..
